Broken Pod looks best in a control, grindy midrange, or recursion-focused Amethyst deck that wants a cheap utility item to recycle key cards from an opponent’s discard pile or, more often, support a long game where deck manipulation and incremental value matter; it can be useful against decks that rely on repeated access to specific effects, but the effect is relatively slow because it costs an ink plus exerting the item and only tucks a card to the bottom of the deck, which is usually weaker than direct discard denial or stronger recursion/removal tools. In most cases, there are probably better cards if your goal is pure efficiency, since cards that banish, disrupt more directly, or recur your own threats tend to impact the game immediately and more reliably; if you’re asking purely about “best replacement,” that depends on the exact deck, but broadly more efficient control pieces or card-draw/value items are usually preferable.
